I am absolutely disgusted by your vote against SB 627. By opposing a ban on law enforcement masks, you are explicitly endorsing a system where armed state agents can operate without showing their faces to the tax-paying citizens they are sworn to serve.
In a democracy, transparency isn't optional. When officers hide their identities behind masks, it breeds fear, encourages abuse, and destroys public trust. Who are you protecting? It certainly isn't your constituents. We have a right to know who is policing our streets. Your vote gives a green light to intimidation tactics that belong in a dictatorship, not in California.
I expected you to stand up for civil liberties and accountability. Instead, you caved to special interests and voted to keep citizens in the dark. We are watching, and we will remember this cowardice at the ballot box.
